Mercedes-Benz presented the new 2024 model of the GLE-Class. Although changes may seem minimal when compared to the current model, it will include a new Plug-In Hybrid (PHEV) option GLE400e that produces a total of 381 HP (280 kW), and 479 lb-ft (649 Nm) of torque. The 400e is a combination of a 134 HP (100 kW) electric motor with a 2.0L four-cylinder engine. The charging capabilities are 11 kW AC, and 60 KW DC. However, the exact range of electric-only driving is still not revealed.

Additionally, some design changes also take place in the exterior front, as well as in the interior. Important to mention is the electrification of all GLE-Class models, that are equipped with a 48V mild hybrid system.

This luxury SUV will feature a new grill with chrome details installed at the front, new daytime runnings lights, and redesigned rear lights. The alloy wheel choices are also upgraded with two additional designs. Two new paint choices are also entering the palette: Manufaktur Alpine Grey, and a metallic Twilight Blue. Furthermore, the AMG line comes as standard on the 580 4Matic version and comes with 21-inch wheels, while it remains an option for other versions.

The interior of the vehicle introduces some details from the GLS and S-Class models, such as the touch-sensitive steering wheel, and the MBUX system of the second generation. Features also include upgraded trailer technology, where trailer dimensions can be added and saved by the driver.

Top-of-the-range AMG models get standard equipment extension that will include a panoramic sunroof, heating, and ventilation of the front seats, Burmester sound system, augmented reality navigation, etc. while the GLE 63 S will come equipped with a new design of the 22-inch wheels as standard. This version remains the most powerful one, with a power output of 603 HP (444 kW). In addition, AMG models will have new upholstery options added.

As announced by Mercedes-Benz, the new AMG models should be in a production by the end of 2023. Pricing details are still unknown.
