Tesla currently has two gigafactories, a massive one in Nevada and one in Buffalo where Tesla and Panasonic are working together to build solar panels.

In the company’s shareholder letter for the fourth quarter of 2016, Tesla revealed it’s planning to finalize the locations for three more gigafactories in late 2017.

Specifically, Tesla stated it “expects to finalize locations for Gigafactories 3, 4, and possibly 5.”

The demand is there as the company anticipates delivering 47,000 to 50,000 Model S and Model X vehicles in the first half of 2017, a rise of 61 percent to 71 percent compared to 2016.

In the letter, Tesla also noted it’s “on track” to start limited Model 3 production in July, including a boost in production to 5,000 vehicles per week in the fourth quarter of 2017, and 10,000 per week in 2018.

The company expects to begin its solar roof production in the latter half of 2017.
