Hence, the company managed to create an \u201cageless\u201d energy storage unit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The battery is positioned in a 20-ft-equivalent container and has a capacity of 6.25 MWh. Hence, the TENER is similar to Tesla\u2019s Megapack, which is also positioned in a metal box. According to reports, CATL managed to achieve 30% more energy density per unit area in comparison to previous versions. The batteries used utilize lithium iron phosphate (LFP) chemistry, resulting in an energy density of 430 Wh\/L, which is significantly higher than the typical industry range.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is also reported that the number of charge\/discharge cycles exceeds 15,000, resulting in an estimated 20 years of operation. Moreover, estimated is also a 20% reduction in the overall station footprint. Zero degradation is achieved through the utilization of biomimetic SEI (solid electrolyte interphase) and self-assembled electrolyte technologies, which enable the movement of lithium ions without roadblocks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Furthermore, via a quality management system, the company has achieved the ultimate safety of energy storage systems. This system includes technology development, proof testing, operation monitoring, and safety failure analysis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, the price of the energy storage unit is still not revealed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>CATL (Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Limited) was founded in 2011 and is headquartered in Ningde, China.
