Uniformity is confirmed using a nine-point test conducted in an empty oven after stabilization period. A second test with product loaded should also be conducted to ensure that the oven is delivering uniform heat to all parts.<\/p>\n<p>A customer wanted to use the Despatch LAC2-18 bench-top oven for curing an adhesive used to mount a high-mass (8-pound) structure to a thick-gauge aluminum plate. Temperature uniformity needed to be confirmed before a decision could be made since just a slight variance will damage the parts.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe customer supplied Despatch with parts which were loaded onto three shelves in the oven,\u201d said Daniel Ruf, Despatch Engineering Manager. \u201cEach part was fitted with a calibrated thermocouple in order to measure the product temperature. Three additional thermocouples were used to measure the air temperature on each level. The temperature range of all six thermocouples was within +\/- 0.7\u00b0C. This result is considerably better than the published +\/- 1.0\u00b0C specification of the oven.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The LAC2-18 bench-top oven features horizontal recirculating airflow and exceptional temperature uniformity. The high-performance oven delivers temperatures up to 260\u00baC (500\u00baF).
