Researchers from South Korea’s Institute for Basic Science have created a wearable patch designed for monitoring glucose levels of diabetics.
The wearable patch comes equipped with gold-and-graphene circuitry, in addition to micro needles that inject drugs into the user’s system as needed when pH, temperature, and glucose levels fluctuate.
Essentially a more high-tech Band-Aid, the device monitors the wearer’s sweat in order to quickly correct glucose levels automatically.
Obviously, this will make life much more convenient for those who suffer from diabetes and are constantly having to monitor themselves and self-medicate accordingly.
At the moment, the wearable patch is still in development and will have to undergo extensive medical testing before we see the device become readily available to the public.]
