Despatch Thermal Processing Technology

The creators of Google Glass, GoogleX, have developed smart contact lenses that come equipped with processing chips and glucose sensors in order to measure blood sugar levels through testing tears.

The innovative contacts feature a minuscule antenna thinner than a human hair which detects glucose levels in the user’s tears by taking readings once per second. The antenna then sends its findings to an external device.

This bionic sensor could potentially make monitoring blood sugar levels extremely efficient and less of a process for diabetics, greatly improving quality-of-life in the long run.

Should this technology prove to viable, these contacts represent a revolutionary product for diabetics.
